Description

A quick and flavorful pasta dish packed with omega-3 fatty acids, ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Spaghetti or Linguine

Canned Sardines

Garlic

Cherry Tomatoes

Olive Oil

Parmesan Cheese

Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti or linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté Garlic: While the pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Add Sardines and Tomatoes: Once the garlic is fragrant, add the canned sardines (with their oil) and halved cherry tomatoes. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  4. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet and mix well. If the pasta seems dry, gradually add reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Season and Serve: Sprinkle red pepper flakes and Parmesan cheese over the pasta. Toss to combine and serve immediately.

Notes

Substitute sardines with tuna or chickpeas for a different protein source.
