- 4 Egg Whites
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Gel Food Coloring (optional)
- Edible Glitter or Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Whip the egg whites on low speed until frothy.
- Gradually add cream of tartar and increase the speed to medium-high, whisking until soft peaks form.
- Slowly incorporate the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to whip until glossy and stiff peaks form.
- Fold in vanilla extract and any desired food coloring gently.
- Transfer the meringue to a piping bag and pipe tree shapes onto the parchment paper.
- Bake for about 1 hour, or until edges are dry and meringues peel easily from the paper.
- Turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside to cool for an hour.
