Ingredients

  • 3 Egg Whites (room temperature)
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 2 cups Cornflakes
  • 100g Semi-sweet Chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Pinch of Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 100°C (212°F).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Beat the egg whites in a clean bowl on medium speed until frothy.
  4. Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold in the vanilla extract and salt.
  6. Fold in the cornflakes and chopped chocolate carefully.
  7. Pipe small mounds onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for one hour until dry to the touch, then turn off the oven and let cool inside for an additional hour.
  9. Let the meringues cool completely on the baking sheet before serving.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute egg whites with aquafaba. Ensure to store the meringues in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them crisp.
