Description

Discover Decadent Blue Cheese Stuffed Pears an elegant party appetizer that marries sweet pears with bold cheese for wowworthy bites for gatherings

Ingredients

Scale

4 pear halves (ripe, Bosc or Bartlett)

4 oz (112 g) blue cheese, crumbled

2 oz (56 g) cream cheese, optional for extra creaminess

1/3 cup (40 g) walnuts, toasted

2 Tbsp honey

1 tsp fresh thyme leaves

1 tsp lemon juice

1 tsp olive oil

Pinch of sea salt

Pinch of black pepper

4 thin slices prosciutto (optional)

Instructions

  • Step 1 — Prep the pears: Choose pears with a gentle give when pressed; wash, halve lengthwise and core to remove seeds. Carve a neat cavity for filling; keep the edges slightly thick to maintain structure.
  • Step 2 — Make the filling: In a bowl, crumble blue cheese and blend with cream cheese if using. Add lemon juice, olive oil, thyme, and honey; stir until smooth with some texture; fold in chopped walnuts; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 3 — Stuff the pears: Using a small spoon or piping bag, fill each pear half generously. If using prosciutto, wrap a thin slice around the middle or lay across the top after filling.
  • Step 4 — Bake: Preheat oven to 375 F (190 C). Bake 12–15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and pears are tender; optional broil 1–2 minutes to caramelize the top.
  • Step 5 — Rest and serve: Let the pears rest 3–5 minutes; garnish with thyme and a drizzle of honey or lemon juice; plate with arugula or greens.
