1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 large eggs
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Chocolate melts or chocolate for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs and stir in melted butter and vanilla extract.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined.
- Fold in semi-sweet chocolate chips, reserving some for topping.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool for 10 minutes, then lift out and cut into heart shapes.
- Melt chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals.
- Dip each brownie heart into the melted chocolate and place on a parchment-lined tray to set.
- Sprinkle optional toppings before chocolate sets.
Notes
For a gluten-free version, you can substitute the all-purpose flour with almond flour. To make it dairy-free, use coconut oil instead of butter.
