Ingredients
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
8 oz (226 g) Brie cheese, rind removed and cut into 16 pieces
1/4 cup cranberry sauce or preserves (60 ml)
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary or thyme, finely chopped
1 large egg, for egg wash
1 tablespoon water, for egg wash
1 teaspoon honey (optional)
Pinch of salt
Pinch of pepper
Chopped chives or pistachio slivers, to taste (optional toppings)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 F (200 C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut the thawed puff pastry sheet into 16 evenly sized squares.
- Slice the Brie into 16 thin pieces that will sit on top of each puff pastry square.
- Top each puff pastry square with a Brie slice, then add a small dab of cranberry sauce and a pinch of chopped rosemary or thyme.
- Whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon water to create an egg wash. Brush a light coating over the exposed pastry edges.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and deeply golden around the edges. If desired, broil for 30 seconds at the end for extra crispness.
- Remove from the oven and rest for 2–3 minutes. Optional: drizzle with honey and garnish with chopped chives or pistachio slivers. Serve warm.
