Description
Delightful and elegant Berry Cream Puffs filled with fresh cream and berries.
Ingredients
Puff Pastry
Fresh Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
Heavy Cream
Powdered Sugar
Vanilla Extract
Lemon Zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out your puff pastry on a floured surface until it’s about 1/8 inch thick. Cut it into squares or circles, approximately 3 inches in size.
- Place the pastry pieces on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow them to cool on a wire rack.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add in powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to whisk until stiff peaks are achieved.
- While the cream is being whipped, rinse your fresh berries and let them drain. Cut larger berries like strawberries into bite-sized pieces.
- Once cooled, carefully cut each puff pastry in half. Spoon or pipe the whipped cream into the bottom half and top with a generous amount of berries.
- Gently place the top half of the pastry back on. Dust with extra powdered sugar for a beautiful presentation.
Notes
For a healthier twist, use whole wheat pastry or substitute heavy cream with Greek yogurt.
