Description

Delightful pastry with tender dough and luscious vanilla glaze, perfect for impressing guests.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk in a saucepan, stir in the yeast, and allow to froth for 5–10 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in one bowl, and whisk eggs and melted butter in another.
  3. Combine milk mixture into flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms, adding more flour if too sticky.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes, then let it rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  5. Mix diced apples with cinnamon and sugar; set aside.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle, approximately 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread apple filling on the dough, fold edges, and shape it into a ring.
  8. Place on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk; drizzle over warm Kringle before serving.

Notes

Can be served warm or at room temperature. Pairs well with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
