Indulge in these delightful Strawberry Cream Cheese Heart Danishes, combining buttery pastry with creamy filling and fresh strawberries for a heartwarming dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • A pinch of flour (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  4. Cut the rolled pastry into 4×4 inch squares.
  5. Spoon 2 tablespoons of cream cheese filling onto the center of each square, topped with strawberry slices.
  6. Fold two opposite corners of each square towards the center, pinching to seal the filling.
  7. Brush the pastries with the beaten egg for a golden glaze.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  9. Cool slightly on a wire rack, then serve warm with a sprinkle of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

You can use Greek yogurt as a healthier alternative for cream cheese, or try whole wheat puff pastry for added fiber.
