Description

Delightful, flaky cheese straws infused with aromatic rosemary and rich Parmesan cheese, perfect for snacking or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup All-Purpose Flour

1 cup Finely Grated Parmesan Cheese

2 tablespoons Fresh Rosemary, chopped

½ cup Unsalted Butter, softened

4 tablespoons Ice Water

½ teaspoon Salt

Black Pepper, optional, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, finely grated Parmesan cheese, chopped rosemary, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add the softened unsalted butter and work it into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Slowly add the ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until the dough just comes together.
  4. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into strips about 1 inch wide and 4-5 inches long.
  5. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place cut strips onto a lined baking sheet and sprinkle with black pepper if desired. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Cool on a wire rack and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

These straws are great with dips like hummus or tzatziki and can be stored in an airtight container for up to three days.
