Description

Delightful Danish butter cookies with a rich flavor and melt-in-your-mouth texture, easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Beat with an electric mixer for about 2-3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg yolks and vanilla extract, and beat until fully incorporated.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and salt, then gradually mix into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Using a piping bag with a star-shaped nozzle or a cookie scoop, shape the dough on a lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for best texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature to maintain freshness.
