Description

A delicious twist on classic garlic bread with a savory cheesesteak filling, perfect for dinners or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

1 loaf of Italian bread

1 pound of ribeye steak

1 onion, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

2 cups provolone cheese

3 tablespoons of butter

4 cloves of garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Finely chop the onion and green bell pepper. Slice the ribeye steak into thin strips.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the onion and bell pepper, sauté for about 5 minutes.
  3. Cook the Steak: Add the sliced ribeye, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  4. Mix in the Cheese: Remove from heat and stir in 1 ½ cups of provolone cheese until melted.
  5. Prepare the Garlic Bread: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the Italian bread in half and brush the inside with a butter-garlic mixture.
  6. Stuff the Loaf: Divide the cheesesteak mixture evenly between the two halves and top with remaining cheese.
  7. Bake: Place the stuffed loaf on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Serve: Remove from the oven, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, use leaner cuts of meat or whole wheat bread. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
